Contexts and dimensions of algorithm literacies: parents’ algorithm literacies amidst the datafication of parenthood

چکیده

In this paper, I present contextualizing factors, dimensions, and key markers of algorithm literacies, paying attention to the context parenting parenthood amidst datafication. Analyzing data from “think-aloud” interviews with 30 parents children aged between 0 18, across England, draw upon media digital literacies scholarship focus, first, in on competencies, conversations, events which contextualize parents’ algorithmic interfaces. Next, out four dimensions including awareness, technical critical capacities, championing their children’s best interests, identifying practical for each dimension. reflect broader implications these datafied societies, note that are, forever, a work progress, fluidity flux diverse courses journeys, deeply contextualized resources restraints encounter daily lives.
